We spent the third day of our vacation week at the beach. We went to Hamlin beach on the shores of Lake Ontario. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather. Nathan has this thing where he chases birds. No matter where we are, if he sees birds, he takes off after them. In the above picture he is the little kid in the green shorts running. Katie's Dad will remember Nathan doing the same thing at Niagra Falls for an hour! The first part of the day, Nathan and Mommy took a little snooze in the car. Mike and the girls explored the beach. It was weird, really coarse sand on the shore, rocks in the shallow area, then nice soft sand out deeper in the water. Kinda reminds me of a saying that I taught the girls the other day. "Most things in life are hard before they get easy". Rachel and Hannah are both beginning their journey learning new instruments. Rachel on viola and Hannah on violin! OK, back to the beach story.

Aliza has a wonderful zest for life and she LOVED the beach. She dug and built and played for hours. Rachel and Hannah had fun making huge holes in the ground. They called them bathtubs. They did really well this summer in swimming lessons, so they practiced all their cool strokes. Oh yeah, I had to pull Nathan out of the water just before the life guard did. He was fine. He has NO fear of water, but doesn't know any cool strokes yet. Great day!
SEABREEZE

Day 4 of our vacation was memorable. We spent the day at Seabreeze, an amusement park on the shores of Lake Ontario. We spent the morning and some of the afternoon at the waterpark portion. We don't have any pictures because we were all too busy getting wet and freezing to death. We didn't happen to pick a warm day, but we still managed to ride the waterslides and have a lot of fun! Hannah, Rachel and Mike rode the scary "vortex". It is a tube slide that has a significant drop off. We ate a picnic lunch and then off to the rides.

The cars were hands down Nathan's favorite ride. He was all smiles and giggles, but definitely took driving seriously. He was the cutest! Check out Rachel. She was one inch from being too big for the ride. Her knees barely fit and I think she got a little kick out being so old and big. Liza is in the yellow car, of course. At the end of the ride Nathan would not get off. I had to go through that little bar thing that turns and pry his hands off the steering wheel. I tried to expain that he could go again, but he would have to wait in line. Luckily, the line wasn't very long. He went a few more rounds in the cars. Heaven!

This ride is called the SPRING. It was one of Hannah's favorite rides. She probably went on it 5 or 6 times. I really enjoyed it, too. The lines were not very long which was so nice. The reason being it was raining, so normal people left. We decided to stay!!

So, this ride is called bear trax. Aliza was brave and went on it first with Mike. Then, she begged me to go with her. I gave in. During our short wait in line, Aliza told me, "Mom...this ride is funner than it looks". Then a minute later she smiled as said, "This ride is faster than it looks"! I was starting to get nervous. Then the clincher, "Mom...I 'm sewious, this ride is scarier than it looks". I totally agree!

What a great day! BYE!

This is a test to see something
Just a thought, Mike, but I think you may be just a tad too big for that last ride!
What a fun blog! Feel free to check out ours anytime: www.bylundbeat.blogspot.com
p.s. I have a picture of Gracie as the Jell-O girl too!
I love seeing all of the places you've been. It gives me ideas since we've just moved here. Now, back to school, structure, yada, yada, yada.
