FLORIDA

For winter break this year we decided to really take a break from winter! I got an idea to go see my sweet friend, Kathryn Burbidge and her family in Florida. I have not seen them in a long time and I wanted to see where they are, see the kids and visit the beautiful beaches of Florida. Mike is in his surgery rotation right now so I made up my mind to drive to Florida with the kids! Oh boy..we had some adventures along the way. Overall, we did fine. The kids actually did very well. I kept them stocked with treats and they watched DVD's. Sometimes it was too quiet and I had to phone a friend to stay awake! So here are some pictures of our fun little vacation! A huge thanks to the Burbidges for welcoming us and showing us around. We love you! Getting ready to roll

Rachel was in heaven. She LOVES the beach and discovered some jellyfish!

Hannah loved the water. Isn't it beautiful!

A lot of the day was spent helping Scott (Kathryn's husband) make
this sand forest. It was THE most popular site on the beach that day. Many visitors.

The next day we went back to a different beach just the walk around. It was
cloudy and windy. Nathan just loves the waves! He loved walking barefoot!

SASQUATCH ZOO
So we went to this little local zoo and it was the best. Totally rustic and low key! We saw peacocks, llamas, turkeys ,black bears, a rare WHITE TIGER, tons of monkeys and alligators (of course!

On the way back to New York, we stopped in Kentucky at Abraham Lincoln's birthplace. It was so fun to learn more about President Lincoln. I visited this place when I was in third grade. It was great to go back and visit.

The ride home was long and we got into some snow but we arrived home to our Dad and Chinese food! We loved our little break. Hopefully, the memories will get us to spring!
