Big Owie

We had a very eventful Thursday evening. About 5:00 PM Aliza was doing a cartwheel with a her little ballerina doll in her right hand. It didn't go as planned and she collapsed. Right away her little arm was very injured. I took her to an urgent care who took one look and sent us to the pediatric ED (emergency dept) at our local hospital. She broke her right arm in two places. After 7 hours of pokes, x-rays, medicine and casting we got to come home. Aliza was a brave little girl . We are so grateful to the medical team that took great care of Liza. Mike is ironically on his pediatric rotation at a different hospital. Luckily they let him leave and come take care of Liza and Mommy. We also appreciate all our friends who have helped us in so many ways. Liza has loved all the phonecalls, notes, treats, attention, etc!! Aliza will wear this white cast for about a week and then should be able to trade up to a cool pink one. Just in time to start Kindergarten! She is learning to use her left hand and has been getting dressed and eating. FEEL BETTER SOON SWEETHEART!

I thought I had to worry about boys breaking things!!! I'm sure you'll be good as new in no time and back to doing those cartwheels when that cool pink cast comes off! :-) Hope all heals well and soon.

Aliza,
So sorry to hear about your arm! Perhaps you and your little cousin Seth have more in common than I thought! I hope that you get feeling better soon! And how cool to start school with a pink cast. We have found that having a cast is a great way to meet lots of people. Everyone wants to hear your story! We are thinking of you! Hopefully you aren't right handed???

Seriously! When are you two going to start picking on people your own size? I hope she gets better soon! Katie I was going to tell you that Garrett has Diane Weir for third grade this year. Do you remember her? He really likes her. Anyways, I'll be keeping my eye on you (over the web, but still...) Hope you're doing great!
